The Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) facilitates and assists students with a whole range of academic functions, including course planning, (pre-) registration for classes, class schedules and grade functions, scheduling academic classes, processing student requests relating to: Leave of Absence (LOA), early exit, withdrawal for exceptional reasons (WX), update of student’s particulars such as change in Major, Minor, or Concentration, Incompletes, Independent Study Modules and Audit, assignment of Mentors and Advisors, graduation and degree check.
The Office of Academic Affairs plays a pivotal role in advising students and in assisting them as they navigate their academic pathway towards completing their undergraduate degree. For student queries, they are welcome to walk in during office hours, make up an appointment through the AMS or raise a ticket through the AMS.

The Office of Academic Affairs is a team of 9 permanent members with alternating student interns. They work towards fostering a safe and inclusive academic environment for the Ashokan Community.
The Office of Academic Affairs is in charge of formulating and updating the academic policies for Ashoka’s academic programmes. These range from policies on Incompletes to leaves of absence. Members of Ashoka fraternity can access these brochures in the my.ashoka portal.
Ashoka University offers 25 majors and 22 minors. Each department is headed by a faculty HoD and offers myriad courses that are specializations of different faculty members.
Ashoka provides students with a space to express their creative freedom and academic inclinations. There are many academic societies established by students at Ashoka, each falling under the purview of the Office of Academic Affairs.
Each major and minor department at Ashoka has a curated list of courses, faculty members and credit limits that students can fulfill to pursue their academic trajectories. The department handbooks are available under each respective department at Ashoka website.
With an aim to foster a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for all students, the OAA collaborates with Ashoka’s Center for Well Being and the Office of Learning Support.
